Ambushing The Meme

Terrell Owens and Joe Horn find themselves in hot water with the No Fun League at different times for excessive end zone celebrations, the first featuring a Sharpie marker and the second featuring a cell phone (and a $30,000 fine from the league). Why? Because they expose the league to ambush marketing efforts by companies who don't want to pay the expensive sponsorship premiums that the NFL currently commands.

(In the case of Sharpie, the firm decided not to formally endorse Owens, though they did receive an estimated $500,000 in free exposure from the incident.)
